Multicultural Aged Care

What is the Community Partners Program (CPP)?

The goal of CPP is to identify and address barriers to accessing community and residential Aged Care services by the elderly from multicultural backgrounds and their families. CPP also aims to raise awareness within the multicultural communities in relation to all aspects of the aged care services. Additionally, through CPP we are able to provide support, assistance and advice to Aged Care service providers when dealing with elderly members of multicultural communities.

How can we help the multicultural community?

We help ageing multicultural communities and their families through:

  • Organising information sessions on available Aged Care services
  • Providing resources on available Aged Care services and how to access them
  • Advocating on behalf of multicultural communities to Aged Care service providers for culturally appropriate care

How can we assist aged care service providers?

We provide assistance to Aged Care service providers by:

  • Assisting Aged Care facilities with culturally and linguistically appropriate services
  • Organising cultural briefing sessions on the main cultural groups living within the region
  • Providing literature and other resources on how to care better for the various cultural groups in the region
  • Keeping Aged Care service providers up to date on information available in other languages for their use
